Woot is Culturally Amazing; People Happily Buy Crap
I’ve known about Woot for years and recently added the Vista sidebar gadget to see their daily offer. Today’s offer is amazing. They’re selling crap for $3 + shipping; an unknown random bag of crap. Three pieces of crap. And it sold out.
If its a hoax, then they engendered good will and humor with their customers.
If its real, then they just got income by blatantly selling crap.
Brilliant.
