DJ Mix: Dale Phurrough (dubstep, glitch, jungle, wobbly bass)

Thursday, June 25th, 2009

Juicy for dubstep, glitch, wobbly bass, and drum and bass…er…jungle? I’ve got a new mix out on Jungo Road just that. I’ve recently been more into the outer rims of bpm; say less than 100 and more than 160. It’s more your ass quaking than your hands shaking.

[WARNING: Please, get some good speakers or earbuds; not like the terrible ones included with iPhones and iPods. Without them, you just won't hear the bass that is essential to enjoy this mix. For those few extra bucks you’ll get better sound at lower volumes which also helps to save your ears.]

http://jungoroad.com is the place for music off the beaten path; the road less traveled. That beautiful, wonderful, creative road that is just oozing with creativity. Go over there and listen, download, subscribe to our iTunes podcast as Jungo Road, and follow us on twitter. Stand up and show your support for these producers and DJs of electronic music by going to their live shows and purchasing their music.

DJ Trinitron Set This Thurs; The Glitch Mob Grows

Wednesday, December 5th, 2007

DJ Triniton has her set this Thurs 6 Dec 07 from 9:30-11:30pm at Chapel Bar. She’s been my long-time friend and I’ve watched her growth (and helped a little) as a DJ. She spins dirty-dirty-dwerty house w/ a little old school hip-hop, electro, and breaks thrown in. Its, literally, a school night for her so she’s got the earlier slot. You can still get home and get enough sleep to make it to work, or school, on Friday! So go to Chapel tomorrow. GO! Get a seasonal drink by the good-looking bartenders, and groove it out…drink it out.

Also, The Glitch Mob continues to slay it as they produce music, grow, and demonstrate they’ve got their shit together. They’ve got talent, some good management in the crew, and have a can-do collaborative attitude to match. I support them in every way I can. Yes, they performed at one of my shows in Seattle.

Bassnectar show

Sunday, April 8th, 2007

Last night was a show filled with hippies, freaks, burners, and others that love freak beats. Lorin Bassnectar stopped in Seattle on his west coast tour for his new record release, Underground Communication. It was lots of fun. Here’s a new friend that I made there; she’s a performance artist. Also, a short video of the show.

[Update] I removed the video that I took of the show because its really great but gave away too much of the magic of the tour. I’d rather keep the show’s surprise and power so I might post it later this year after the tour.

“Sound Adaptation” mix by Ooah

Thursday, March 29th, 2007

Ooah: Slayin crowds on the daily!!Ooah, on the left, is a favorite music producer and DJ of mine. He’s in the glitch, glitch-hop, and IDM realm. He’s got a solo and group career; also associated with The Glitch Mob. For my show “4 Seasons” in March 2007, I brought up The Seedling Escape (Ooah and Kitty-D). Great performance. So, I just read that Ooah has a new mix out and I’m listening now. Thumbs-up! Get it while the gettin’s good.
